The Port of Melbourne’s tug fleet recently visited their new home on the banks of the Yarra River.
Previously berthed at South Wharf, the new location south of the West Gate Bridge will enable the tugs to better service port facilities, including the recently developed container and automotive terminals at Webb Dock.
Two new finger jetties are now in place, with landside works including new tug operator facilities underway. Works are expected to be completed later in 2017.
