The internationally exhibited artist visited the Short Road depot, where he installed temporary neon lighting on disused buoys, before photographing his creation at dusk.
Floodplain looks at changes along the Yarra River over the years, so with extensive riverside landholdings from the Bolte Bridge to the mouth of the Yarra, a visit to the Port of Melbourne was an essential part of the project.
Floodplain will be exhibited at the National Gallery of Victoria later in 2017.
